Totnes Streets

Influencing local development

Transition Streets created a tipping point for change

The project involved a new partnership with Totnes Town Council that played a part in it becoming the first Transition town council (‘This is Devon’ article).

  • A partnership with South Hams District Council provided solar-PV loans and grants for low-income households: that's 44% of the 141 solar-PV installations in Totnes & District.

  • We put solar-PV on Totnes Civic Hall.

  • We retrofitted the much-loved Dartington Village Hall, opened by Edgar Hodge and Eddie Guy in April 2012.
